Part of the reason I upgraded to El Capitan was in hopes for a snapping feature similar to Window’s. Unfortunately what I got was a green button that makes it imposible to resize open windows quickly. I also lost my ability to minimize windows that I made full screen. This app fixes all of the issues I was having and more. It is super easy to customize every detail, down to the color of your pre-sized window overlay. I also really like the ability to easily assign keyboard shortcuts to the window sizes. I don’t arrange my windows into vertical thirds very often, but when I do I’ll have 3 intuitive keyboard shortcuts to use instead of the drag-and-snap feature. Well done!

It would be great if this functionality were built into OSX but at $3 it’s an easy fix.

Amazing piece of coding - and if you couple it with the Author’s other apps it does magic. In this day and age it’s a sheer delight to see someone who really cares about his code and his users. Bravo!

I like the app, but I wish that this version would automatically load afte restart when you select that option in prefs. I liked the older version better; it had some useful 3rd party mouse utilities built in that this one lacks. :(

Some coworkers told me about this app ebcuase we are always doing split screen work and I just downloaded this. Hands down, the best app I have on my Macbook!!! 100% worth the money

This program and its companion “Better Touch Tool” are a crucial part of my workflow. They let me manipulate my windows and system with a single, simple action (of my choice—a drag of a window to the side of the screen, a right-click on the minimize button, a keyboard gesture, a tap of a finger on the right part of my mouse, etc.). The two programs together are extraordinarily powerful, and I can’t recommend them enough.

I can’t feel organized without snapping. It’s one of the few things that annoy me with macs compared to windows, macs split view feature is limited and clunky. This app surpasses even window’s implentation of snapping. It has amazing customization in both UI and function. It’s a sterling example of a quality app.

UPDATE FEBRUARY 2016: Still using it on DAILY basis and can’t even imagine working on my iMac without it. Simply get this app, it’s REALLY THAT GOOD! This is the best windows management app. Super efficient and fast. Very easy to setup and use. Actually you can just install it and start using it. The default setup is already great. You can dwelve into all the “hi-tech” settings but I find the default awesome. This is how window management should be done! Bravo to the developer!!!

At work I have an external screen that I have arranged to be tall so I can review long documents easily. BetterSnapTool is terrific for letting me quickly arrange my documents. Command-Option-T and the current document is the top half of the screen and the width is full width. This helps me especially because I often have lots of windows open. Often the right sides are off the screen and this app fixes that in one motion not drag, resize, drag, resize, etc. I would recommend this to anyone who has multiple screens or has a big screen with several windows open at once.

This is an absolutely great app. It does what it promises, with enough flexibility to be as complex as desired. But it also is simple enough to use it right away for basic built-in tasks and gradually build your window management system.

As a power user of just about any computer I own, I used the Windows 7 Aero Snap constantly. BetterSnapTool brings this functioinality (and more) to my MacBook. It’s an awesome tool that just works every time. Gotta love it and gotta have it.

I use they keyboard for almost all of my navigation, and not being able to snap and move windows was painful. This app is beautifully designed and has fantastic customization options. Highly recommended, completely worth the purchase.

Update: Need to fix bugs when adjusting snap area text fonts on extended monitors. When you set a new snap box and try to change the font color, the box disappears when you try to click on it. moving down to 4 stars until fixed. This app was well worth the money. An idea for improvement is to have a keyboard shortcut to increase the side of the app window in step increments with the same aspect ratio as the mac screen. Inversely you could reduce the size with a different command combo.

This little app does what it’s supposed to do. I would recommend this to a friend. It makes side by side work with documents really easy.

just as the tittle says. simply worth it

This program has what I was looking for to make a smooth transition from windows. One of my biggest roadblocks for using mac rather than widows was the simplicity of multitaksing with windows. My concerns with Mac were, not having a maximize window option, and using the built in maximize/split view for mac just doesn’t work as well as windows aero snap. This tool has cleared up all of my doubts. Leaving all default setting the same, the only changes I made are as follows: I removed the borders, I made a shortcut to quickly maximize windows, I clicked to make snap area show up faster. I set to start bettersnaptool when mac starts up. The only other issue I ran into was the two finger swipe causing pages to switch when I’d try seeing a windows content during split screen. I went to trackpad settings and changed this to a three finger swipe and now I can use two fingers to move around a webpage while in split screen.

I simply cannot use a computer that doesnʻt have BetterSnapTool installed on it. I use it ALL THE TIME and itʻs become so integral to the way I use my computer. I seriously cannot handle watching people move windows around anymore. Seriously Apple needs to consider installing this as a default utility. You folks are incredible!

When I heard they’d be adding “snapping” to El Capitan I was quite excited, but the devil is in the details… The way it has been implemented is hugely disappointing - slow, limited and full of compromises. BetterSnapTool is exactly that - it makes snapping very similar to what was introduced in Win 7 and actually improves on the process a bit as well as adding extra settings specific to how thigns like smart cornners work on a Mac. This should be be called MillionTimesBetterSnapTool

This App is worth every single Penny, its so useful. ***** 5 Stars easy.
