This is the best tool for windows management! I also recommend everyone to try BetterTouchTool. I can’t imagine my mac without these two utilities! Thanks Andreas for such a great tools and cool price!

Incredibly useful. This app gives you the Windows 7 windows snap feature, which I can’t remember what life was like without it.

For some reason, OS X doesn’t do this natively. I run multiple monitors (3, or even 4 with airplay sometimes.) This issue is two of my monitors are linked to one desktop via hardware. When I want one app on one monitor of the two it’s like pulling teeth. The hardware “fuser” came with a utility to do something similar, but it was so clunky and odd that I just gave up on it. Enter BetterSnapTool. Beyond providing what is basically Windows 7 functionality, it goes further by allowing customized snap and landing zones. The way you define them is just very simple and thought out and I really love to see that in an app. You can also make the + green window control right clickable and have it snap to various locations! I’m in love!

For window management in OS X, there is no better option than BetterSnapTool, especially if you’re moving from a Windows PC with the Aero Snap window management. The only feature that is really missing from the app is the ability to customize window sizes to the user’s needs and tie it to a hotkey. I want to have Chrome on my right monitor covering the left 2/3 of the screen, and Slack up with the right 1/3, and I don’t want to have to resize the windows manually every time. BST allows me to snap windows to the left, right, or middle 1/3, but not to fill the other 2/3 with a single window. It’s an odd miss for such a robust and excellent tool.

This is amazing. I have a huge 4k monior and this makes window management so amazing. Love customizing per application. Just awesome.

This application is fantastic! I was about to purchase Magnet when I discovered I had actually purchased BetterSnapTool two years ago! I win!!! I haven’t used OSX as my daily operating system for about three years now. Instead I have been using Linux and tiling window managers. So after having defaulted to the family’s computer maintainer, I figured I should make an account on this family iMac so I can fix it if necessary. I was frustrated by the fact that there was no tiling, so I came to the App store in search of a solution. BetterSnapTool didn’t click as something I had used before until I found it in my Purchased section, then I remembered loving it back when I had my white Macbook. Honestly, I can’t blame anyone for going the Magnet route. It is higher rated after all, being second in the list of Top Paid Apps and ten rankings better than BetterSnapTool. But this application deserves a look and some consideration for sure.

In Windows one uses the keyboard to launch a app then to snap it into place without ever leaving the keyboard. However, as nice and powerful as BetterSnapTool is, it is missing the ability to launcg apps from the keyboard and hence requiring a back and forth from the trackpad or mouse. Thereby disrupting the flow.

This is by far my favorite productivity tool. The best part, for me, is the custom-defined snap areas that let me lay out all my windows just right, very quickly, every day and throughout the day. I VERY MUCH wish I could get that feature on Windows, since I work with both OSs daily. Thanks!

Everything works well, but to truly be perfect it needs a windows chooser when you snap one Window to one side. Similar to Windows snap, when you snap one window to a side it automatically gives you all the other windows on the other side to quickly choose which gets snapped next. A mini expose on the unselected side. Please update this ASAP!

I had this first, switched to magnet for 2 hrs and came back with flowers….

I thought maybe I wouldnt need BetterSnapTool after Apple added the option to split the screen between 2 windows, but that functionality is not nearly as good as BetterSnapTool. It makes windows management as easy as when using Windows system software. This app is excellent and one of the few that I use regularly.

I love this app. Use it constantly. I can’t figure out why Apple doesn’t do this. Totally amazing!
